Five days, deep in the Rubies.
We returned from the annual Ruby chainsaw cutting mission a few days ago. One of my favorite weeks of the year.
We fly in via helicopter from the lodge with the crew, gear, food (Prepped and packaged by Francy) and cooked on the mountain by JR, and base on the mountain for 4 nights an 5 days of thinning aspen trees in the bottom of ski runs to make the exit easier for our incoming winter season.
The days are long and very rewarding seeing lanes through the trees come together and imagining what it will look like mid winter.
Aspen forests are starting the autumn transition and during the 5 days of cutting we could see the colors begin to change.
Summer 2025 has flown by, it is hard to believe it’s the second week of September already.
