A lot goes in to a Ruby season.
Now, Year 49 is here.
We spent the day on a recon flight and stepping into terrain we haven’t been in, in more than a decade.
The Independence Mountain Range is 60+ miles north of the lodge and, especially early season, can pick up storms that have a more northerly track bringing more accumulation than the Ruby Mountains to the south.
We found quality snow coverage throughout the northern terrain. It is truly the middle of nowhere, we flew miles of skiable terrain today and didn’t see a single track.
First guests are here, awaiting their 6 am wake up knock.
See you tomorrow.
