January 12, 2026. in the air.

We got our first glimpse of the range today on a 50+ mile flight from Cold Creek in the northern part of the range to Long Canyon in the southern Rubies.

It is full on winter with the best skiing and coverage above 8,500 feet throughout terrain.

We had the guide team out today in three different groups checking terrain, gathering snowpack data and putting in landing zones.

The first real turns of the 2026 Ruby season.

Temperatures are expected to warm the next few days.

Thankfully the January sun angle is low and the snow surface is staying cold.

Tomorrow we will continue our terrain evaluation in the alpine.

Goodnight.
