Yesterday was a full sun, warm day on the mountain that created a temperature crust on the surface with overnight freezing temperatures.
This is a good cycle as long as there is a cold night followed by a warm day that can heat the snow surface and warm the crust for a good skiing product.
We had the freeze last night, however today we had moderate winds, high clouds and cold temperatures throughout the day, keeping the crust on the snow surface.
We skied there runs in the Southern Rubies before calling the day due to challenging skiing with a temperature crust present on most terrain.
Full north still holds soft, recrystallized snow.
We are expecting a better day tomorrow with lighter winds, warmer temperatures and full sun which will help with crust come off with heat.
See you tomorrow for the final day of the current tour.
Have a good night.
