Some of the hottest temperatures of the summer are gripping the West as we roll through the peak of the summer season.
Heat advisories are in effect throughout Nevada with valley locations hitting triple digits this week.
A needed upgrade to Ruby 360 Lodge this summer was to install air conditioning for the kitchen, bar and dining room area to help keep the lodge cool on our dinner service nights where we host up to 50 guests every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday Night through the first week of November.
The summer season has been very busy hosting many locals and guests passing through the area for a stay at the lodge.
While we are currently in a summer heat wave, cooling temperatures, shorter days and the first snow of the season are not far away.
We purchased two new-to-Ruby, 600 Pisten Bully snowcats this summer, bringing a huge upgrade to our very important “no down days” cat skiing option in the event of weather or wind grounding the aircraft. The 600’s will be the newest and most powerful snowcats in the history of Ruby.
Preparations for year 49 are picking up with our 6-month emails beginning to be sent this week which are sent out to currently booked guests 6-months from their tour date.
The guides are busy throughout the West with their summer work and adventures. We have our annual chainsaw cut the first week of September where much of the guide crew make it to Lamoille for five days of mountain chainsaw work clearing small aspens that make a big difference opening the bottoms of some of our ski terrain.
We hope you are all enjoying a healthy summer season.
See you soon.
