October 17, 2024. the first white.

It has been a warm start to the fall season in Lamoille with above average temperature and high pressure.

An amazing fall with beautiful weather and the busiest summer/fall the lodge has ever seen.

There has been a lot of hype this week about a pattern change for the west.

A powerful winter-like low pressure system is currently moving through Northeastern Nevada with strong prefrontal winds and heavy snow at the lodge elevation.

It is hard to believe that two days ago it was 75 degrees and near record heat and today it’s below freezing and snowing at the lodge.

It is always exciting to see the first valley elevation snow of the season. Unsettled weather is expected for the next several days before a warning trend during the final week of October.

The lodge summer season continues through the first weekend of November. We will take the rest of November off, then for the first time we will offer Holiday Dinners every weekend of December, except Christmas week, and first week of January at the lodge.

Our 2025 winter crew is nearly complete. We are ready for year 48 of Ruby and can’t wait for the magic. The guide crew will arrive the first week of January along with the aircraft for guide training. The first guests of year 48 are scheduled to arrive January 11th.

Winter 2025 is coming.
