It is more of the same for the Great Basin when there is an atmospheric river or bomb cyclone event.
Typically we get the scraps and this event was no different. It is fun to see the huge snow totals around the West Coast from Bachelor to Tahoe.
We had a very strong wind event this morning with gusts in the 50’s at the lodge elevation along with a rain/snow mix for the majority of the day. Cold air arrived with the passing front in the afternoon with several of inches of snow falling at the lodge.
The pattern remains active with a storm system moving in Monday for a little treat before the Holiday Weekend begins.
Moisture amounts forecasted with this next wave are impressive with more than in inch of liquid which roughly translates to around a foot of snowfall. We will see what happens.
It is great to see the moisture and active pattern, many years the mountains are brown and the valley is dry this time of year.
High pressure builds for the end of the month after the early next week storm moves out.
Happy Thanksgiving. Let it snow.
