February 5, 2024. cat & mouse.

Mountain weather is tough. It’s always changing.

And today was no different.

The forecast was for snow through the day, so after the first day orientations we had a window with the upper elevations open and we made the most of it, skiing two runs in the aircraft before weather closed down and we transitioned on mountain to the snowcats.

We skied an additional 5 runs in Conrad Creek in the cats before the weather again improved allowing all 4 groups to ski the final run of the day in Snell Canyon- The best skiing of the day.

Eight runs on day one of the tour.

We were fortunate to get in the air today. Tomorrow appears to be very active with heavy snow and wind likely through the day.

Snow day.
