High winds throughout the day kept us in the snowcats on the leading edge of a powerful storm system expected to bring feet of new snow to the area by Monday.

The skiing and coverage is good with the Ruby Mountains currently reporting more than 108% of normal snow for this time of year and skiing 8-12 inches of snow from 1/10 on a soft base.

A blizzard warning is in effect tonight through Sunday brining heavy snow to the area.
