December 29, 2024. The cycle continues.

This cycle was just what we needed: doubling the snowpack since Christmas Eve and incredible liquid amounts of more than 7″ recorded at 9,000 feet.

It will make a great base for the winter. The wind has also been pounding with 50-60 mph gusts throughout the day in Conrad Creek.

The snowpack has gone through huge changes in the last 5 days and has become very active with many natural avalanches visible in terrain and a lot of cracking in the upper snowpack.

The last piece of moisture from this storm cycle is expected to move through the area this evening with additional light accumulations and dropping temperatures.

High pressure moves in for the New Year Holiday followed by several currently weak systems beginning the 3rd of January.

We are on track for the opening of our 48th season mid January.
