A wild day today with ripping winds in the early morning hours of 70+ mph at the lodge.

Temperatures warmed in the valley with heavy, wet snow falling for the morning before clearing in the afternoon.

The Ruby Mountains are currently 132% of normal snowpack, thanks to this storm cycle with a four foot base at 9,000 feet in Lamoille Canyon.

The weather remains active through the end of the month with several additional storms likely before 2025.

Models are split during the first week of January with some models keeping the flow active and others bringing a high pressure ridge to the west coast.
