March 28, 2024. thunder snow.

We lost power at the lodge around 6:30 AM due to a strong electrical storm, thunder snow, wind and heavy snowfall. Power was restored around 9AM.

More than 5″ of snow in less than 2 hours at the lodge elevation.

8″ of new snow in Conrad Creek and seven runs in the snowcats for the single-day.

South winds ripped through the mountains today at all elevations with consistent wind speeds in the 20-40 mph range and gusts in the 60-80 mph range preventing us from getting in the aircraft except for an exit out of the mountains late in the afternoon.

Brilliant skiing throughout the day with new snow on a soft base.

Sixteen guests arrive this evening for the three-day weekend tour.

We aren’t finished yet.
