We had a plan.
The weather forecast was for a clearing early and increasing clouds through the day.
After spending 2 days in the snowcats we wanted to give the guests here the best chance for a full day in the aircraft.
With one of the earliest starts we remember (7:15AM) boot up, we were off the pad by 7:30 and experienced a true Ruby Magic day in the alpine.
Eleven runs- the most so far during a day in the 2024 season, under partial sun and holes of direct sunlight before clouds increased. We were back to the lodge by 12:30. A fast group, fast snow conditions and excellent flying weather allowed for an efficient day top to bottom in the operation.
Coverage is very good at Ruby, we measured 270cm (9 feet) of snow in a snow study plot in our frequently used terrain.
A weather system is expected to move in tonight with more than 6″ of new snow likely by Thursday afternoon.
Cheers to a big day where everything went right.
