January 17, 2025. heli to cat transition.

You never know what the weather is going to do in the mountains.

We made a plan this morning in our guide meeting based on the current forecast and weather.

Not a single thing we had planned was what occurred during the ski day. And that is what makes this place special, being able to adapt and react to  unplanned changes throughout the day.

We started the day in Conrad Creek helicopter skiing the cat terrain because it was the only landing open under the cloud level. Clouds lifted and we were able to ski 4 additional runs in Talbot Creek before returning to Conrad Creek with an efficient on mountain move to the snowcats as weather deteriorated.

Eight runs today with shallow recrystallized snow conditions throughout terrain skied.

Temperatures are forecasted to plummet during the next several days as a cold airmass settles in.

Skies are expected to clear tomorrow, we will see you at the window in the morning.
