A very wintery day. Heavy snow, strong winds, thick clouds.
Four to six inches of new snow overnight and a full reset of all Ruby terrain.
We were able to get two runs in the aircraft, one in Conrad Creek and one in Talbot Creek between strong snow squalls which moved through the mountains all day.
We skied the other 4 runs of the day in the snowcats in Conrad Creek with heavy snow showers filling in terrain throughout the day.
Weather moved in quickly at one point and we had to wait it out with a dried aspen wood fire until conditions improved for an aircraft exit.
We had 4 long time returning guests today and 12 brand new to Ruby guests here for the first time.
Unsettled weather seems to dominate the weather forecast for the next week.
A full tour of incoming guests arrive tonight for the weekend, some of the longest returning guests who visit us each year.
Fire it up, it’s grill time baby.
