High Pressure dominates.
The last snowfall was November 27th in the Rubies.
We would rather have a big high pressure ridge now rather than in the middle of the winter season.
Times like this we are glued to the long range weather forecasts looking for any clues of the ridge breaking down and brining a pattern change.
There is a weak low forecasted to move through the area on December 14/15 bringing light snow.
The two main weather models, the GFS and ECFM are split in the long term with the EC brining a strong trough of low pressure to the west coast around the 20th and the GFS keeping the trough well off the west coast with high pressure remaining.
It will change sometime. It always does.
We finished our first weekend of Holiday dinners at the lodge last night with a sold out crowd each night enjoying the festive holiday vibe.
More to come. Do your snow dances.
