February 28, 2025. Thank you February.

February 2025 saw every kind of weather possible.

Extreme winds, frigid temperatures, heavy snow, high pressure, warming trends.

We received more than 40 inches of snow during the month and saw many incredible avalanches and multiple avalanche cycles.

We skied the final day of February in Welch Creek and the Right Fork of Lamoille Canyon, skiing 8 runs, six chasing the sun in the morning finding spring corn conditions and the final two runs of the day on a north aspect with recrystallized snow and finishing the day with a west face in the sun.

The spring conditions are expected for one more day before a pattern change moves into the area beginning Sunday.

Winter Storm Watches are posted for the mountains with up to 2 feet of new snow by Monday Night.

The pattern remains active through the second week of March.

March is coming in like a lion.

Thank you for the February memories.

Sleep well, see you in the morning for day 2 of the weekend tour.
