Never trust the weather.
The forecast last night and even this morning looked like we would be in the snowcats all day due to snow and cloud cover.
After the first morning orientations of the three- day tour the cloud level stayed high enough for us to get five runs in the aircraft in Talbot and Conrad Creek before finally closing in with powerful heavy snow and wind.
Seven total runs today with six to eight inches of new snow and a full reset throughout terrain.
The snowpack has gone through big changes in the last week with strong winds and heavy snow. More natural avalanches were observed today that we had not yet seen prior.
Clearing is expected tonight and the crew here is buzzing after today and looking ahead to a big day tomorrow.
Sweet dreams.
We returned to the lodge for arrival heli bites and hot steamed towels. Surprise & delight.
