January 22, 2021. Lunch with a View

5 Runs today in Talbot creek skiing shallow recrystallized snow. We had lunch at the High Ruby Yurt watching a storm system come in from the Southwest. Winter Weather Advisory tonight with 8-12 inches likely by tomorrow in the Rubies. Let it snow.

January 20, 2021. It’s a beautiful day.

Season high 9 runs today in the Lamoille Canyon Area. Variable snow conditions exist with the best skiing being found in sheltered north facing terrain. A major pattern change is expected to begin Friday with multiple weather systems through the long term forecast period.

We skied 7 runs today finding recrystallized shallow powder on North aspects. We had a north wind that blew in low level clouds and forced us to move around a lot today. A true Ruby Magic Storm last night. We woke up to 6 inches of new snow at Ruby 360 Lodge. We haven’t seen above the 8,000 foot elevation level in more than 24 hours.
