A strong low pressure system delivered a fresh coat of white at the lodge elevation (7,000 feet).
The storm moved in slow with not much wind associated with it. Heavy snow began around noon through the early evening hours.
We took one of the cats for a spin to see how far we could get and before we knew it we were at the top of Conrad Creek at the High Yurt (9,700 feet.)
A great start to the season with a foot and a half of snow currently at the top of Conrad. For reference, we started the season last year the second week of January with just more than 3 feet of snow on the Conrad snow stake.
November 2022 was one of the earliest we have gotten to the top of Conrad Creek when we cut in the roads for the first time on November 7th.
A storm system is expected Monday before high pressure builds for the next week.
A lot of hype still exists from long range models as well as western US forecasters around the end of the month/ early December for a potential large low pressure West Coast trough which could bring ample moisture and an extended period of active weather.
It’s a long way out, nice to see the early season snow.
